THE NMA DOCUMENTARY NEWS
The New Model Army documentary is now in full production and over the next few months we will be interviewing a whole range of people with a story to tell about the band. As important as anyone are the fans themselves. We need to talk to as many of you as possible about what NMA means to you. Some questions to think about...
• where were you when you first heard the band? what was it about them that struck you?
• choose 3 songs, what do they mean to you? have they affected your life? what memories to they trigger when you hear them? how do you interpret the lyrics of these songs? or maybe the lyrics are irrelevant to you, it's just about the music?
• in your mind what makes NMA different from all the other bands?
You could have been following NMA for 30 years or just discovered them. You could be young or old, and it certainly doesn't matter where you are from or what langauge you speak (Charlotte speaks Polish and French). It would be helpful if you are on Skype but not essential, email is fine for starters. You just need to have something to say about New Model Army and don't mind being filmed. Also, if you know a great fan who may not have seen this post - please tell us about them!
Rather than posting replies on the forum it would be best if you could email us on:

REGISTRATIONS FOR THE FORUM - NEW PROCESS
Of late we have been experiencing a large volume of spam on the Forum noticeboards. We have attempted various solutions with various degrees of success but have been unable to eradicate the spam, and indeed in the background we have been fighting the registration of a hundred new "applicants" a day; 99% of which is of course more spam. The worry has been that in deleting these "applicants" we are missing real registrations from people wanting to join the noticeboards. Consequently, we have disabled the registration process for the immediate future until we can find a solution.
However, we are still taking registrations via another route: anyone wishing to register for the noticeboards should send an email to
Old usernames and passwords are unaffected and remain valid - log on in the usual way.
We can only apologise for this convoluted process and we hope that the problems we have been experiencing in attempting to prevent the spam can be resolved in the very near future so we can go back to the automated registration process. Thank you for your patience.

This is not available anywhere else and is here at the special introductory price of £5.00.
Obviously this Download Shop is still in its embryonic stages and all feedback is welcome (write to us at
NEW MODEL ARMY NEWSLETTER
There has been a newsletter sent out over the last couple of days which you should all now have received, if not you may have to change your spam settings on your computer to allow it through. If you have signed up for the newsletter (you can do so HERE) and have not received it then we would be interested to know as we would obviously like to make sure that the distribution is working properly. For those of you that have not received the mailout then you can see it HERE.

All the artists featured have given their music for free, with some songs being written especially for the album.

NEVER AGAIN
"My name is Allyson Bird and in response to the terrible crime that happened to Sophie Lancaster and indeed to hate crimes and racism in general we have asked 23 writers of weird fiction to contribute to this anthology. All proceeds from this book will go to The Sophie Lancaster Foundation (agreed with Sylvia), Amnesty International and P.E.N. (International organisation to promote literature and human rights, encouraging translation and campaigning against political censorship)."
Never Again is an attempt to voice the collective revulsion of writers in the weird fiction genre against political attitudes that stifle compassion and deny our collective human inheritance. The imagination is crucial to an understanding both of human diversity and of common ground. Weird fiction is often stigmatised as a reactionary and ignorant genre - we know better. The anthology will be published by Gray Friar Press in September 2010, and edited by Allyson Bird and Joel Lane.
It will be a mixture of original stories and reprints from Ramsey Campbell, Lisa Tuttle and Joe R. Lansdale amongst others. Never Again is a non-profit initiative aimed at promoting awareness of these issues among readers and writers of weird fiction. The editors, authors/artist and publisher will receive no fees for this work. Any profits made from sales will be donated to anti-racist or human rights organizations, e.g. The Sophie Lancaster Foundation.

PLAY SAO PAULO
17th & 18th SEPTEMBER 2010
We are delighted to announce that we have finally confirmed a 30th anniversary double nighter in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The venue and address are:
Moema
São Paulo

New Model Army.
We have always been a band concerned with looking forwards rather than back. However, to mark the 30 years, this autumn we will indulge in a moment of nostalgia and pride in what we have created. Most weekends we'll be in a city for a two-night stand. The format of the shows will be very similar to what we did in 2000: two sets on each night - the first starting acoustically and building up over 45 minutes or so. Then a short 20 minute break before another full-on set of up to 100 minutes including encores. The following evening we will do the same but with 100% different material.
Our promise is to play at least 4 songs from each of the 13 studio albums (including the two B Sides/Lost Songs compilations). These will not be played in chronological order, or album-by-album, but a random choice. There are also some cities where we will be playing just a single night and on these shows the band will perform one double-set with a representation of all the albums. It's possible that we may also feature guest appearances from one or two friends and former members on some nights but nothing is fixed at this point. We hope also to include a display of at least a small part of the New Model Army 'One Tribe' Exhibition of original artwork and memorabilia - depending on the nature and geography of the venue and other ‘logistics'. We will make further announcements as the shows get nearer. Below is the FINAL list of shows.
Oct 15th & 16th: Cirgolo Degli Artisti, Rome
Oct 22nd & 23rd: Rock City, Nottingham
Oct 29th & 30th: Whelans, Dublin
Nov 5th & 6th: LeTrabendo, Paris
Nov 12th & 13th: The Szene, Vienna
Nov 20th & 21st: E-werk, Köln
Nov 27th & 28th: Huxleys, Berlin
Dec 3rd & 4th: Forum, London
***COULD IT PLEASE BE NOTED THAT BOTH NOTTINGHAM ROCK CITY ANNIVERSARY SHOWS ARE EARLY SHOWS. NEW MODEL ARMY WILL BE ONSTAGE AT 19.00 ON BOTH NIGHTS. THIS IS BECAUSE OF THE VENUE RUNNING CLUB NIGHTS ON BOTH NIGHTS AND IS TOTALLY OUT OF THE CONTROL OF NMA. OUR APOLOGIES FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS CAUSES ANYONE.***
Looking forward to it,
New Model Army
We are sorry that we were unable to do a live webcast but Dean has been working hard editing camcorder footage together and we have placed some video clips from the show up for your delectation in the Tommystock section in the menu on your left. These are free to view and will remain up for the rest of the summer. However, we have created a charity account set up on Paypal, where anyone wishing to give donations can do so, with all donations going to Tommy Tee's Family.
It is hoped that some more videos will be posted here very shortly including clips from The Almighty, Rev Hammer and Notoriouz (featuring Tommy's son Thomas Walker) who have all kindly consented to allowing them to be hosted on this website.
You can also make orders at other stores, at Amazon UK, HMV, Play, Amazon Germany, Megastore Sweden, a whole host of webshops and download sites and at what is left of good record stores across the World. Should you choose to order it from us, we will ensure that you have it as soon as the post will allow.
To celebrate, we'll be giving away the title track as a free download HERE. There will be also be other free downloads appearing up in this new section of our site over the next few months. Our Myspace site will feature selected tracks for people to listen to, and in addition, a sampler of what's on the album can be seen on our own section of Youtube HERE and in various places across the web.
If anyone would like help us get the word out by distributing flyers at gigs or festivals that they are attending in the next few weeks, please write to us
