Firstly we hope everyone is well out there. The current lockdown will be a different experience for us all depending on our domestic circumstances, but we hope that you are all coping OK.
Sadly, all German Festivals this year have been cancelled. Meanwhile, we have had no official word from Berlin regarding the concerts at the Tempodrom and SO36 but it seems unlikely that they will go ahead; we will know one way or another in the coming days. The same is true of Glasgow and Osnabruck. If these concerts are not happening this summer, they will be postponed rather than cancelled and we will rearrange dates.
At this stage the UK Festivals (Kubix Festival and Beautiful Days) are not cancelled, but again it seems unlikely that they will actually happen. However, we are optimistic that our shows from October onwards will go ahead as planned.

We are still taking and processing orders and sending out items although this is now done on a twice-weekly rather daily basis. The ‘Only Stupid Bastards Beat Women’ T-shirts are being printed and we hope to begin sending these out next week. In addition we should be able to replenish some stock, notably the classic logos. All the remaining ‘From Here’ merchandise is now in the sale. Finally, we are down to the last few copies of the 1000 Voices CD/DVD digi-pack so this is the last chance to buy this record of the extraordinary event two years ago.
The band themselves are all in good health and are busy creating and living.

And so we come to the end of 2019 which was quite a year for us, beginning with an intensive couple of months of writing and then the adventure of recording “From Here” in Norway, mixing and setting up the album, a flurry of events over the summer and, for us, a really memorable tour through the autumn.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us through the year – came to the shows, listened to the album and everyone who in any way was moved by what we have made.
Our 40th Anniversary year will begin with the rescheduled UK shows and then trips to Finland (we have added a third show in Jyväskylä), Turkey (two more shows in Ankara and Izmir are now added to the rescheduled Istanbul gig), Spain, Greece and Bulgaria. We are not planning to do too much more in the first half of the year but through the summer we expect to be busy – not least with the Orchestra concert in Berlin in July. We will record this of course, and we also plan the release of other physical product during the year – details soon.
In the second half 2020, we will celebrate our 40 years in a lot of cities across Europe and beyond. Our plans are still being finalized - stand by for more announcements in the New Year.

We are delighted to announce that, as part of our 40th Anniversary, we will be playing a concert with a full orchestra, the Sinfonia Leipzig, at the famous Tempodrom in Berlin on 17th July 2020. So much of our work has had orchestral influences, that this seems like a wonderful opportunity to explore even more musical possibilities and we will begin working on arrangements with Shir-Ran Yinon in the new year. This is not part of a tour but, like the Nights of 1000 Voices project, an absolutely unique one-off event. Tickets are already on sale from Eventim.de
In typical New Model Army style, on the same weekend, we will be doing exactly the opposite, playing a stripped down punk rock set at a Berlin venue yet to be confirmed. Details soon.
