(Sullivan) 2021
The sun and the wind and the breaking waves
The crashing waves, washing ashore
And the holy grail of silver light, of shifting light
I hold in my hands
Face into the spray, later on the salt will dry
To taste upon the skin, to taste upon the skin
This is where the horizon begins
With the tide to pull you out and the tide to pull you in
And I dream of you, hair spiral in the wind
Against a million stars dancing on the sea
Shingle around your feet, sandpipers running in
Gulls swooping down, surfing the wind
Face into the spray, later on the salt will dry…
And the land it is breathing and the water is moving
And everything ends in the keeping of faith
Face into the spray, later on the salt will dry
To taste upon the skin, to taste upon the skin
And tide will drag you out and pull back in
A kiss upon the skin, a kiss upon the skin
