(Sullivan) 2021
You can hear yourself breathing, the steep path you run
Then the mist comes rolling in, taking out the sun
And all the light turns silver, for a moment, then passed
It’s in the worlds of in-between that we’re alive the most
If I could see in your heart there would be stone and heather
And the miles of moor stretching away forever
In the fire a gnarled old piece of tree crackles in the glow
Cells packed tight together, burning slow
You’re troubled by things that escape you, no easy splinters fall
Clinging on tight for dear life and never lose your hold
If I could see in your heart there would be stone and heather
And the miles of moor stretching away forever
Here the water seeps away down through solid stone
Into streams rushing through the dark, far below
You can bring the thunder, you can conjure a storm
You can make a shelter anywhere that you need to
And I’ll know where to find you, a place called home
Some people have a landscape written in their bones
If I could see in your dreams there would be stone and heather
And the miles of moors stretching away forever
If I could see in your soul there would be stone and heather
And the miles of fells stretching away forever
